We had a brilliant Summer Solstice celebration at Elsje Point!

What a great evening on June 21 with our fellow Morris side, the Vancouver Morris Men, and friends and guests including Naomi Singer & Secret Lantern, Sospiro Misterioso, Salalaul and other Baltic and Balkan singers and musicians!

We danced, sang, made beautiful Ukrainian-style flower headdresses, and had a grand time all round, till the sun set over the mountains and sea. A lovely way to celebrate the longest day of the year.

Here are a few photos, all from around sunset (as I was too busy playing music in the earlier part of the festivities!)

A preview of our Summer Solstice celebrations Sunday June 21, 2026 at Elsje Point (behind Maritime Museum)

Our annual community Summer Solstice celebrations will be held at beautiful Elsje Point behind the Maritime Museum in Kitsilano, our new location as of 2025. It's a lovely spot where we can dance and sing to our hearts' content as we dance the sun down on the longest day of the year.  Festivities will start at 7 PM and continue till the sun goes down at 9:21 PM (for those who can stay till the end).

Our friends, the Vancouver Morris Men (and many other friends-of-Morris) , will be there so we can celebrate together!

(Photos except the last two by Susan Gerofsky from our Summer Solstice celebrations in 2025).
